addition to
formal conference tours, we have often taken guests on tour who have
booked directly with us for tours before or after confrences they are
attending in Brisbane

International
Frugivory and Seed Dispersal
Symposium/Workshop 2005
About 50 of the fok
from this symposium were taken in two hired buses for a day-tour before
the week's symposium.
We first visited
Cedar Creek Estate, where we were divded into smaller
groups, some visiting the glow worm caves while others tasted wine,
cheese and various snacks or wandered through the gardens, until
everyone had been through the glow worm cave.
Splitting into four
groups we then explored the rainforests of Mount Tamborine and had a
light meal before heading back to Brisbane in time to watch several
hundreds of thousands of fruitbats leaving their roost trees and flying
off for their nightly foraging (picture right).
The experience was especially good for those from overseas who had not
seen Australian ecosystems before, so they could visualize the forests,
birds and bats they later heard about in talks during the symposium.

Frugivory and Seed Dispersal Symposium/Workshop 2005
Eleven delegates from
the same Symposium joined us for a post-conference 3-day wildlife tour.
We followed the usual route of the three-day wildlife overview tour,
but were able to talk in mor depth about the ecology of the animals and
plants encountered, especially those involved in frugivory/dispersal
interactions.
Nationalities included Spanish, Russian, Germab, Chinese (mainland
China), Taiwanese, Indian and Soyth African. Two delegates 9American
and British) joined us for a similar pre-conference tour.
